Week 14 Storytelling: Rumpelstiltskin

Image
Long ago, there lived farmer. He had a very beautiful daughter and he wanted to give her a better life than he had. So, one day while delivering his goods to the king’s market he noticed the king walking through the market. The farmer then began to tell those around him about how his beautiful daughter was able to spin straw into gold. Making sure to talk loud enough for the king to hear, the farmer told everyone how one day soon, he would no longer need to grow his crops because of her gift. The king over heard the farmers boasts and approached him and said that if it was indeed true that the daughter could spin straw into gold he would marry her to his son. That night, the king sent for the farmers daughter and brought her to the castle and locked her in a room filled with straw. He said to spin all the straw in the room into gold by morning and if she did, so he would marry her to his son the prince. Week 14 Reading Notes: Death's Messengers Part B

Image
This was an interesting story. I was very surprised by the ending. Like the man in the story, I was expecting actual physical entities who would come to the man to let him know death was coming. I then thought that the man would run from death and escape him. Seeing Death's messengers were actually illnesses and symptoms and sleep itself was an interesting twist that I really enjoyed. Week 13 EC Growth Mindset Acronym

T.E.A.M. T eamwork E nds A t M e Teamwork Image from Memegenerator: Online Source I used to play a lot of sports and still do team based activities. The thought behind this acronym is the fact that once an individual starts thinking "me" or better known "I", he/she starts thinking of themselves before the team. Teamwork stems from thinking about the team and thinking for the team not about oneself.

Week 12 Story Telling: Three Little Pigs

Image
Long ago when pigs when animals spoke as men do, there were three little pigs who lived with their mother. She raised them for many years, teaching them to be poets. The oldest brother was the wisest of the three and even often spoke in rhyme, just to practice his poetry. He spent his days reading books on different animals learning more about them. Like the monkeys that chew tobacco. When the pigs were ready to move out, they left their mother and went their separate ways. Seeking to build their new homes the pigs each gathered the materials they wanted to use. The first pig built his home out of straw he got from a farmer. While building his home a hungry wolf spotted him and decided to eat him. Once the little piggy finished his home the wolf approached him. He told the pig to come out and play or he’d blow the house down and eat him up. The pig responded by calling him a poodle. Angered by this, this wolf huffed and puffed and blew the house down, gobbling up the pig. The secon
